Bad Gifts - Great Gifts

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

I couldn’t help but laugh when I read this post over at The Bad Gift Emporium:

Yep, my mother bought me a goldfish for Christmas, but instead of putting it in a bowl, she left it in the bag overnight. Imagine my surprise when I unwrapped an odd-shaped box to find a dead fish! What a Christmas to remember!

I’m not sure if it’s really funny or it’s way too sad. I guess I figure I’d stay away from giving fishes in boxes for gifts.

Actually I’m more of a personalized gift giver. That’s why I tend to do a lot of shopping over at Eye Candy Gift. What I really like aside from the great selection is the low prices they have. Right now in this terrible economy they are running a BOGO 25% off sale which applies to their already discounted prices.

And if you are getting married, be sure to check out their wedding supplies over in The Wedding Shop at Eye Candy Gift. You’ll find just about everything but the groom for sale there.

Thank Your Teacher With a Gift

Friday, July 17th, 2009

Teachers add such a lot to our lives and guide our kids with special attention. It is usually good to give an appreciation of their thoughtfulness and caring. But what gift would be suitable and not overwhelm the teacher? Here are some present ideas.

First, fill a basket with things they are going to need and use all year like pens and highlighters. Another ideas is to make a contribution to the local zoo or library in your teacher’s name. Put the donation card in with a note expressing your appreciation.

Teachers tend to be avid readers. Get a gift voucher or card at your local book store and enclose it in a note of your appreciation of their help.

Find a sack bag with apples, pears and other super fresh fruits. Have your child draw a design in it. Otherwise consider that, Teachers regularly burn the midnight candle as they read reports and grade papers. Fill a basket with bags of munchies like peanuts, chips, popcorn.

Personalized Cigar Humidors are a classy gift for that special someone

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Personalized Cigar Humidors are storage units designed to hold, preserve and display a collection of cigars. They come in varying sizes and shapes, and can often be custom made to match the tastes of the owner.

Cigar humidors are an essential appliance for any significant cigar fan, and can be priced anywhere from $50 for a straightforward wood box made to hold some cigars, up into the thousands for a sublime, handcrafted display case providing maximum preservation and class. The most significant aspect of a cigar humidor is its climate control system. This is what keeps the product fresh, conserving both the look and the flavor of the cigars over long periods. Humidity and temperature are rigorously controlled and monitored in the most complicated systems. These devices are built to mechanically monitor and control the climate of any room, thus keeping the conditions at a perfect level for the protection of cigars. Cigar shops and stores generally have a system called a walk-in humidor.

For the casual cigar smoker and the major backer, a cherry wood humidor is the key to longer lasting, better cigars, as well as an aesthetically pleasing way to show off a collection.
